Corporate Sustainability Model

Valorem’s Corporate Sustainability Model is designed to guide the actions of Valorem and its portfolio companies toward creating long-term value for the benefit of their stakeholders and the environment.

The model incorporates material issues identified from sustainability trends and best practices. These issues are prioritized and validated together with portfolio companies and other stakeholders.

Prioritized material issues are managed through four pillars, implemented across all Valorem companies:

Crecimiento Responsable

Responsible Growth

Purpose: to create value by incorporating sustainability criteria that identify and mitigate potential Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks across the value chain, while capturing growth opportunities and deepening the product and service portfolio based on stakeholder insight and market trends.

Gobierno y Ética Empresarial

Governance and Business Ethics

Purpose: to establish the policies, processes, and procedures needed for the proper functioning of governing and management bodies, supporting the fulfillment of organizational objectives and value creation on a foundation of transparency and business ethics.

Talento

Talent Management

Purpose: to offer a value proposition that supports people’s personal and professional growth and remains competitive in attracting, retaining, and developing the best talent, in support of long-term growth and value-creation goals.

Inversión de Impacto

Impact Investing

Purpose: to promote initiatives that maximize the impact of social investment and facilitate strategic alliances that contribute to the country’s development and growth.

In addition to these four management pillars, the model integrates strategic relationship management across the board, aimed at strengthening trust-based relationships with priority stakeholders to support growth.

Each company, according to its level of maturity and the characteristics of its sector, has defined a strategy for embedding this management approach across its value chain. Companies have also driven specific initiatives to respond to stakeholder expectations and generate value.

Governance Model

To ensure the effective implementation of sustainability management, Valorem established the Corporate Sustainability Committee, in which sustainability leaders from each portfolio company take part.

The Committee is responsible for defining guidelines, driving the implementation of cross-cutting actions, identifying synergies, sharing success stories, and expanding knowledge of sustainable practices.

Working groups are also formed with representatives from portfolio companies to address specific cross-cutting topics or projects. In addition to sustainability leaders, these groups include multidisciplinary teams brought together based on role relevance.

Separately, working groups are formed to develop the initiatives prioritized in the roadmap. These bring together teams from different companies, organized according to how their roles align with the projects being implemented.
